Christopher Tyler wrote: Christopher Noble may want to take up his objection to the 'pet' oxidation theory of AIDS with Stanford University Medical School for publishing, "Glutathione deficiency is associated with impaired survival in HIV disease" (1) in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. I read this article but for some reason I failed to find the bits where the authors claim that:
Oxidative stress has been implicated in the pathogenesis of many RNA viruses this in no way indicates that these RNA viruses do not exist and are not the causative factor in these diseases. Is Influenza caused by sun-burn, semen, alchol etc rather than a putative "influenza virus"? If we apply Denialist logic then the "influenza virus" does not exist. Oxidative stress is implicated in the pathogenesis of pulmonary damage during viral infections. In a previous study we observed a significant improvement of survival of influenza-infected mice with NAC,... If the Perth Group spent less time denying the existence of HIV they could perhaps make some useful contributions to the field. Competing interests: None declared |
